1) PLACING AN ORDER

You may place orders by telephone at 740-498-5787.

You may also email me the following information and if you will include your phone number I'll be happy to call you back (USA only) or communicate by email as you prefer:

1) Your name

2) Your shipping address.

3) The item numbers of all merchandise you'd like to order and your trim and finish preferences (see options here)

4) Your Mastercard or Visa payment info.  (Please see instructions below and include the information with your email for faster service.)

5) If you are an Ohio resident, what county is the shipping address located in OR what is you valid Vendor's License or Tax ID Number for resale exemption?

6) International clients please specify what class of mail you want the order shipped by and if you want it insured or not.  (Note that I do NOT falsify customs declarations and any requests for me to do so will only be ignored.)
 
 

2) PAYMENTS
 

Effective July 1st 2006 the only payment method I accept is MASTERCARD and VISA directly.  No other cards are accepted and NO PAYPAL or similar.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYING BY CREDIT CARD:

By PHONE:  Call in your Mastercard or Visa Number with EXP date AND the last 3 digits of the security number found in the signature strip on the back of your card in to me at 740-498-5787 and leave it on the answering machine WITH THE ITEM NUMBER.  If you'd like to speak to me please Email me and we will arrange a time for me to be at the phone to receive your call.  I am usually available at the phone on weekday mornings from 8AM and Noon Eastern US Time.  If you are inside the USA please feel free to email YOUR telephone number to me and let me know a good time to call.  I'll be happy to call you and save you the Long Distance charges;-)

By E-MAIL Send me the Card number in at least two separate Emails for security purposes.  The
first Email should contain the answers to my questions above, the type of card (MC or
VISA)  and the first 8 digits of the card number.  The second Email should contain your
name and shipping address along with the second half of the Credit Card Number plus the
Expiration Date and Security Number from the back.  Feel free to send part to  otto@amishbaskets.com and the rest to ebayonetdotcom@yahoo.com for added security.

IMPORTANT: If your billing address for the card is different from your shipping address you need to include the billing address too for card verification.  I use this security feature for YOUR protection. If the address you provide does not match the card verification address I will NOT fulfill your order so please ensure that you provide an accurate billing address for you card.  Please also do not forget the security number.  Many card transactions are rejected without it.
 
 

3) HANDLING & DISCOUNTS

Orders totaling less than $100 in merchandise will be charged a handling fee of $5

Orders totaling from $100 to $400 in merchandise will not be charged any handling fee.

Orders totaling over $400 in merchandise will not be charged any handling fee AND will receive a 5% discount on the merchandise total.

Orders totaling over $800 in merchandise will not be charged any handling fee AND will receive a 10% discount on the merchandise total.

Orders totaling over $1,500 in merchandise will not be charged any handling fee AND will receive a 15% discount on the merchandise total.

Orders totaling over $3,500 in merchandise will not be charged any handling fee AND will receive a greater discount on the merchandise total negotiated on an individual basis.

4) SHIPPING

United States Customers: I generally ship by USPS Priority or Parcel Post Mail with Delivery Confirmation (tracking label) inside the United States.  Insurance is automatic but optional and if you don't want it you may decline it at your own risk. You will AUTOMATICALLY be charged for insurance unless you specifically decline it.

ALL US shipments will be WITH Delivery Confirmation, NO EXCEPTIONS!  Please remember that when calculating postage and be aware that because the Postal Service now charges by size as well as weight of parcels many of the larger baskets will be charged for a minimum shipping weight of 20 lbs.

Each item lists it's unpacked weight in the description but does not account for the weight of the packaging itself or potential size so the order total shipping weight will be a bit more than the collective weight of the items in the order.

You will only pay only the actual cost of shipping determined at the time your order is packed and charged.

Domestic Insurance costs are as follows:

Up to $50 coverage costs $1.65
Up to $100 coverage costs $2.05
Over $100 coverage costs $2.45 PLUS whatever the Postal Service charges per additional $100 of coverage as needed.

International Customers: I ship by United States Postal Service.  You may estimate shipping and insurance rates from the International Mailing Manual posted on-line at http://pe.usps.gov/text/Imm/Immctry.html.  Insurance is Optional and if you don't want it you decline it at your own risk.  Note that insurance is NOT available for "Letter Post" or "Global Priority" rate international mail and is not available at all to some destinations.  "Global Express Mail (EMS)" is USUALLY automatically insured up to $100 at no additional charge for most destinations.  Please see the above link for details. If you want insurance please only look at "Parcel Post" and "Global Express Mail (EMS)" rates.  If you do not specify whether you want insurance or not I will automatically use insured shipping.
 
 

5) CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS and REFUNDS

CANCELLATIONS- You may cancel an order up to the time I either place a special order for an item if one it is not available or the time I pick up an order from existing stock. I pick up baskets on Tuesdays and Fridays regularly and if there are enough orders I will pick them up on other weekdays too.  This leaves little time for canceling orders. If the basket you order is not currently in stock or not currently available with your color choice I will order exactly what you want and it may take up to 2 weeks from the day I order them to be finished.  Once I have picked up or otherwise placed a special order for your basket it is TOO LATE TO CANCEL an order.  PLEASE DO NOT place an order under the assumption you can cancel it on a whim.  Once I have invested my time and money in getting you exactly what you want I expect you to follow through on your end.

On rare occasion it may take over 2 weeks to get an out of stock basket made or your color choice matched.  I will inform you if it takes over 2 weeks and offer you the option to cancel on a case by case basis.

RETURNS- You may return any item you are not completely satisfied with.  You must notify me and receive a return authorization within 3 days of receiving your order.  UNAUTHORIZED RETURNS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Any return must be received back within 14 days of your receipt of the item and be in the same condition as it was when it left here.

REFUNDS- Refunds will be issued PROMPTLY upon receipt of any pre-authorized returned item in the same condition it was in when I originally shipped it.  Refunds will be subject to a 20% restocking fee based on the merchandise price paid and will be made by Mastercard or Visa to the card you used to pay for the order.  No shipping or handling fees will be refunded.
 
 

6)  SPECIAL ORDERS FOR CUSTOM BASKETS

My Amish Neighbors are happy to build custom baskets to your personal specifications.  Trim color and stain choices are offered on all of the regular stock items and is not considered special service.  Creating baskets with dimensions or features other than those offered on this web page are considered "special orders".  Please provide the dimensions you would like, description of features like handles or lids and your stain and trim color preferences (Must be chosen from the available trim colors for our regular stock baskets and if you had a stain preference other than our standard stain please order them unstained and you can stain them yourself to whatever stain color you wish.)

I will get a quote from the Amish and contact you with it.  This may take a week or two.  If you accept the quote you must pay for the order at that time by Visa or Mastercard before any work is begun.  Any sales tax, shipping and insurance will be charged separately at the time of completion and shipment.  This usually takes 2 weeks but in some cases may be a month or more.  Special orders may not be cancelled once work has begun and are NON-RETURNABLE.
