Amish Egg Baskets are fully woven baskets unlike the solid bottomed baskets elsewhere on this web page.  My Amish friends refer to this type of construction as "Tennessee Style".  They are hand made of thin strips of WOOD (Not reed or straw like some similar looking baskets sold elsewhere.) resulting in a very strong but lightweight basket that is very attractive.  They will have 2 or 3 colored stripes depending on size and colored piping on the handle.  The openings are round and the basket swells a bit larger toward the bottom.  The first basket listed below shows the general shape nicely.  The proportions remain quite close as the sizes grow smaller.  Each basket is signed on the bottom as seen below.
